We have the four approved and recommended receipt printers in stock and are going to explain the main differences between them both. These include brands Star Micronics, Epson & Sunmi.
There are three compatible printers for Uber Eats which will allow you to print your order directly from your Uber Eats App. You can do this from either an Android or iOS devices depending on which tablet has been supplied.
The four models that have been approved are the Star Micronics TSP143IIIBI, TSP654IIBI-24, Epson TM-M30, Epson TM-M30II & Sunmi NT311. These models are bluetooth and pair directly to your tablet so when an order is placed online by one of your customers, you simply select and print the order. This saves a lot of time rather than manually processing the order especially when you are bombarded with multiple orders at a time.
What is the difference between these four printers and which one should you purchase?
These two questions are asked multiple times a day and we understand why. For any business owner they may look different and have a different price tag but what makes one better than the other?
Here are the main differences between the two Star Micronics models:
1. The TSP143III has an inbuilt Power Supply & the TSP654II has an External Power Supply. If the power supply fails and needs replacing, it is much easier to do so with the TSP654II. Although saying that, the TSP143III does not have a bulky power block hanging out of the back so can be a neater and more attractive solution. It isn't a common issue with the power supply but anything can happen with electronics.
2. The TSP143III prints at 250mm/second & the TSP654II prints at 300mm/second. There isn't a huge difference in print speed but this may matter to some who want to print their order dockets at super fast speeds especially if it is busy.
3. The TSP143III has an Auto Decurl Feature - No more curled receipts falling off the counter. Star’s new “decurl” features literally flattens the receipt before delivery. This is great put putting orders up along the order rail as the paper is nice and flat so it can be easily read without curling back on itself.
4. The TSP143III has a USB charging port so you are able to charge your tablet at the same time.
The main difference between the Epson printer models
The Epson TM-M30II Bluetooth with USB Charging has an additional USB port which is used to charge your tablet whereas the standard model does not have this function. The Epson is ONLY Compatible with Android tablets so if you need to connect to iOS (iPad) you would need to select the Star Micronics.
The Difference between the Sunmi NT311 Cloud Printer
The Sumni NT311 is the latest edition to the Uber Printer Range. This was largely impacted by the fact the other printers were unavailable for quite some time due to manufacturing and the market required an additional printer to be used. The Sunmi is a fantastic printer at a lower price point. Attention to detail has been provided with packaging and the quality of this compact Receipt / Order Printer. It is limited to only connecting to Android so again, if you require iOS / iPad connectivity, we would recommend using the Star Micronics printers.
Which Uber Eats compatible printer would we recommend?
Both printers are great. They are both high quality and they both have their own advantages but if we were going to choose between the two, it would be more than likely the TSP143IIIBI as this has the Anti-curl feature which will straighten the paper to put in the order rail. There is nothing worse than putting up an order and the paper is curled around so you can't see the complete order easily.
We hope that this information has been helpful and can assist you with choosing the best Uber Eats order printer for your business.
