Why Revolvashade Exclusively Manufactures Fixed Umbrella Bases

There are many companies that supply either fixed or weighted bases for their umbrella products. We, however, only offer fixed base solutions.

There are multiple reasons why, so we hope it will be helpful to list our reasons.

What Does Each Base Type Look Like?

Fixed bases are a design that operates by using the ground beneath the umbrella to secure the product in place. These bases are usually concreted or bolted down. See our example below.

Weighted bases are a non-permanent way to secure the umbrella in place, usually via heavy plates, water or sandbags. There are various kinds, but below is an example.

Weighted Bases Cannot Supply a Wind Rating

Do you want to know whether an umbrella can stand the test of your outdoor area? Due to the variability of weighted bases, it is impossible to accurately recommend a suitable wind rating. By having a fixed base, this eliminates that problem, so you can be sure the rating given includes the reliability of umbrella canopy, frame and base.

Aesthetics

We want your outdoor setting to look its best, and an umbrella should complement the aesthetic. Inground and bolt down bases maintain that premium look as they have a clean finish and do not detract the attention from your furniture or premium pool.

Not Difficult to Install

A perceived problem with permanently secured bases is that it is difficult to install yourself. Although hiring a handyman to take on the job is certainly not a bad idea, DIY installations are relatively simple.

Eliminates Trip Hazards

Adding anything that is obviously hazardous to your setting should never be an option. Chunky bases that occupy valuable space to the ground could easily make a victim of anyone if they’re not hyper conscious that it is there.

Inground and bolt down bases do not share any trip hazard concerns, and thus, are perfect for our customers, especially by the pool!
