The two-day event, themed "Driving food safety compliance through understanding and collaboration" provided an opportunity for officers to share their knowledge and experience as well as provide further education in food regulation and food safety.
Supporting the NSW Food Authority and local councils in their role working to ensure food sold in NSW is safe and correctly labelled, the conference addressed issues including the role of food safety compliance in reducing food-borne illness incorporating presentations as well as practical demonstrations and field excursions.
The presentation of the Food Regulation Partnership Champion Awards also recognised excellence and the achievements of environmental health officers in NSW.
